Mr. Kenny Overby

The head instructor/ owner of ATA Family Martial Arts is Mr. Kenny Overby. Mr. Overby is a fourth degree black belt, and has been training in martial arts for over 17 years. After starting his martial arts career in Boise, ID, Mr. Overby joined the ATA in 1994 in Fort Collins, Colorado and quickly fell in love with all that Songahm Taekwondo had to offer. In 1995, Mr. Overby had the chance to test in front of Eternal Grandmaster H.U. Lee, an encounter that solidified his decision to make martial arts more than just a past time. In 2003, Mr. Overby opened up the first ATAFMA location, a small club in southern Fort Collins, and began spreading Grand Master’s vision of “Today Not Possible, Tomorrow Possible" to Northern Colorado.

With the help of his parents and brother, Mr. Overby turned the club into a full time commercial location in January of 2005. The school grew quickly, thanks in large part to the safe, family atmosphere ATAFMA would become known for. In 2007, ATAFMA Fort Collins relocated to a larger bay in the Raintree Shopping Center, and now serves over 200 active students.

In 2009 Mr. Overby graduated from Colorado State University with a bachelor’s degree in corporate finance and a minor in economics.

In 2011, Mr. Overby opened up the Loveland club location and took the reins at the Louisville ATA school, including them in the ATAFMA family.
